2022 - Gerald Kulow and Dave Dippel Join our Council (2 item(s))

Gerald Kulow and Dave Dippel participated in our Exemplification Ceremony on Saturday, August 20th after the 5:30 Mass at St Thomas Aquinas. It is very exciting to see our council continue to grow, with an increasing presence of members from St Thomas Aquinas. Welcome gentlemen. We look forward to sharing our Faith and Fraternity.


2022 - Special Olympian Lora Behr at our Brat Fry (1 item(s))

Lora Behr stopped by our brat stand at Piggly Wiggly and July 16th to thank us for donating to the Special Olympics. She then went home and returned with her medals to show us. We asked for and took a picture of her by our sign. (Note our grillers in the background.) Thank you, Lora, for sharing them with us.


2022 - Plymouth Council Picnic - July 12th, 2022 (1 item(s))

We held our annual picnic again this year, this time at Nutt Hill in Plymouth. The weather was perfect, with a nice breeze and a beautiful view. We had 55 people in attendance, including Knights, spouses and their families. The council provided the brats and burgers and the families brought their favorite salads, side dished and desserts for the event. The salads and side dishes were excellent, but it was the delicious desserts that completely disappeared. Thanks to all who helped make the event the success it was.


2022 - Our newest member - Joshua Gumtow (1 item(s))

On Monday, April 7th, Joshua Gumtow became our newest member as he received his exemplification at St John's with his wife and kids present for the ceremony.


2022 - Saturday's Frigid Brat Fry 3-5-22 (1 item(s))

These 12 brave souls braved the frigid temperatures Saturday morning to run our first brat fry of the season. We had hoped for moderate temperatures but instead got a cold snap that brought the wind chill down below zero for the day. Miserable as it was, they stayed out and ran the event. Hats off to all you gentlemen for your service beyond the expected call of duty.


2022 - Checks for REINS and Special Olympics (2 item(s))

Each year we coordinate a Tootsie Roll sale to raise money for people with intellectual disabilities. This year's recipients were REINS and Special Olympics. Shown in the photos are Grand Knight Greg Grimes presenting the checks at our February meeting. Each, was for $838.37.


2022 - Mass, Exemplification and a communal meal (2 item(s))

On Saturday, February 12th we gathered for our quarterly Mass as a Council. We had the additional blessing of having the exemplification of two new members after the Mass. They were Dan Burkart and Benjamin Garni. Additionally, we had two new members, Joseph Beers and Paul Garni, transfer into our council this last month. After the Mass and Exemplification at church, we all headed over to The Wilderness for dinner and an evening of fellowship.


2022 - District Free Throw Winners (1 item(s))

These were the district winners of the Free Throw Championship which took place on 1-30-22 at St John's gym. These winners will go on to the Diocesan level of competition in March.


2022 - Donuts and Coffee and a Raffle (1 item(s))

On Sunday, January 30th, we hosted a Donuts and Coffee breakfast in conjunction with the Catholic Schools Week open house at St. John the Baptist church and school. At 11:30 we then drew the 9 winners of our annual Youth Raffle. Shown is District Deputy Larry Leonhardt drawing a ticket while Frank Kozlowski held the bucket and Rick Servais recorded the winners.

2021 - Exemplification of Rob Grimes (2 item(s))

Thank you for a terrific turnout for our second quarterly church mass gathering and exemplification! We had over 50 brother knights and their families attend mass together.

Many stayed afterward for my son Rob's Exemplification. (see attached picture) It warms Lori and my heart to have so many of you share this moment with us! Our presenters did a
fantastic job, as well! Thank you to Don Sager, John Pfankuch, Bill Rusch, Bryan Smith, Tom Brink, Greg Krusiec, Frank Kozlowski and our District Deputy Larry Lenhardt for the great presentation!

After many years of working to attain this award, the Plymouth Council was awarded the Star Award this Fall. Shown in the picture, left to right, are Don Sager our Membership Chairman, District Deputy Larry Leonhart, Past Grand Knight Frank Kozlowski and Grand Knight Greg Grimes.

It was a rainy day, but that did not stop us from running our brat fry. A nice tent and all was well. We still had a successful day in spite of the weather. I believe that is Ron Kapellen grilling while Bob Brigham watches.


2021 - Teacher's Appreciation Dinner (2 item(s))

On Wednesday, March 24th, the Knights of Columbus provided a luncheon for the teacher's at St John's School. Though we could not be there personally to thank them for all they do through out the year, we did put out sandwiches, chips, soda and other treats for them. So, Thank You teachers. Enjoy the meal.


2021 - Donation to REINS (1 item(s))

REINS is an Equinene-Assisted Activities & Therapies organization based in Sheboygan Falls that Provides personal growth, challenge and development for challenged individuals through equine assisted activities and therapies to improve their quality of life. We have donated to this organization for a number of years through our Tootsie Roll Drive. However, we were not able to sell our Tootsie Rolls last year due to the Covid crisis. So instead, we took money we had already raised and donated $811.00 from our general funds. So really, this is our 2020 donation to this fine organization.


2021 - Don Sager February Knight of the Month (1 item(s))

Don has been honored for the job he has done over the last year leading the Membership Committee. We have brought in 10 new members during that time. He has more plans for once the pandemic has passed, and will continue to lead us in this endever.


2021 - John Pfankuch January Knight of the Month (1 item(s))

John was honored as Knight of the month for his continuous service to this club. He is often the man behind the scenes, helping coordinate events without getting the credit for their successes. John also has been leading our semi-annual audit team for the last couple years. Next month, he will be in the lead, running our brat Fry at Piggly Wiggly. (Brat fry was postponed to March 7th). Congratulations John.


2020 - Ron Kapellen December Knight of the Month (1 item(s))

Ron Kapellen over saw the October Brat Fry, which raised 1585.18 for the Boy Scout Troop 851. They are currently raising money for a new trailer to haul their equipment. Previously, we had donated $500.00 to this cause.


2020 - Gerry Brunner - Nov. Knight of the Month (1 item(s))

Gerry was honored for his years of service to the club running our many brat fries. Gerry has finally decided to give up his spatula and let the leadership roll pass on to others in the council.


2020 - Columbian Aware (2 item(s))

Council 1789 received the Columbian Award at it's November meeting. The Columbian Award is given to those councils who exhibit, through their programs and events, focus on Culture of Life, Youth, Family, the Council, service to the Community and the Church. Presenting the Aware is District Deputy Larry Lenhardt (left) to Frank Kozlowski (center) former Grand Knight and Greg Grimes, current Grand Knight.


2020 - Schwarten Family receiving check (1 item(s))

We presented the Schwarten family with a check for $3,320.26 to assist them after their house burned down earlier this year. The money was raised at our brat fry in September, and added to by the State Council. Most of the family showed up for the event. On the far right are Grand Knight Greg Grimes and Gerry Brunner, who coordinated the brat fry.


2020 - Grill Master Gerry Brunner (1 item(s))

Gerry Brunner was presented with a special apron as a thank you for the many years he has coordinated and run our brat fries. His last official fry was the Schwarten family fund raiser, which exceeded all expectations. Congratulations Gerry. Thank you for all you have done.


2020 - Sept 6th Brat Fry for the Schwarten family (3 item(s))

We held a Brat Fry at Piggly Wiggly for the Schwarten family, helping them after their house burned down earlier this year. We raised $2520.36 in this event. It was one of the highlights of our year.


2020 - Outreach to fellow parishoner (1 item(s))

Anna Seifert suffered a brain tumor at 17 years old. She celebrated her 18th birthday in the hospital with brain surgery. She has since had to learn to walk, talk and eat all over again. Anna is home now but still goes in for chemo treatments and works at home with a physical therapist. She can now walk with assistance and feed herself. Pictured is her mother Angie receiving a $500.00 check from Bill Rusch on behalf of the Plymouth Knight of Columbus to help with the ongoing costs of her recovery. Additionally, the State Knights have donated $1000.00 to the family.


2020 - Charity Golf Outing - June 27, 2020 (5 item(s))

We held our 8th annual Charity Golf Outing on Saturday, June 27th at the Glacial Nine at Quit Qui Oc Golf Course in Elkhart Lake, WI. We had over 70 participants. It was a great time for all.

Rick Servais (center) was recognized for running the Council and District Free Throw Contest on Saturday, January 25th
John Pfankuch (right) was recognized for coordinating the Sunday morning Burgers, Brats and Breakfast Brat Fry at St Johns on January 26th. Presenting the awards was Grand Knight Frank Kozlowski.


2020 - Knight of the Month - February (1 item(s))

Don Sager was recognized as February's Knight of the Month for having headed the committee that put on the Membership Drive after the Saturday and Sunday Masses February 29th and March 1st at St John the Baptist. Next, we will be at St Thomas Aquinas on the 21st and 22nd of March, talking with the congregation about the benefits of joining the Knights. That will be followed up in May with the exemplification bringing the new members into the council.
